I wouldn't recommend avast. because it is not very accessible. Use AVG instead. it is accessible with screen readers

Re: avast aunty virus software

Whoops. Sorry. Avast has changed significantly. Apparently, it has become accessible to use these days. I personally don't use it as it's a bit of a Ram hog but it's a good program if you're looking for security beyond what common sense can offer you.
I'd say, if you're willing to pay the price, it's worth the experience. I paid for a year of it myself so I know well what it is and how to use it.

microsoft defender works well enough IMHO

Re: avast aunty virus software

No, this is not true. Avast is no spyware. It belongs to one of the largest antivirus compannys these days, and it is perfectly accessible. Please check your information before posting it @patrickus.

Re: avast aunty virus software

isn't it very hard to uninstall? Esspecially with things detecting manamon or AAC and calling it a virus...

Re: avast aunty virus software

No. Everything in this program is accessible novadays. For most people the windows defender should be enough, but if you need an anti virus in addition, avast is really the best you can get.
