Hi everyone, this is Robbie123 on Klango. I'm just testing the voice forum feature. I have until Wednesday to test it as I only had 7 days access and thanks to Klango removing the Paymo system I no longer have the facility to buy points. Hey Niko, this is Dmitry, and answering your question is like, if everybody would post unlimited, then the time a thread would open would take forever, because even now, for example, like when I want to, I don't know, listen to some of the Polish threads, I can't, because like by the time one thread reloads,
you know, like four or five minutes pass, because they just post and post and post in there, and I imagine like if everybody's posting here would be like, you know, 15 megabytes, you know, like half a gigabyte, it'll take forever for one page to load and like for all posts to display, and for you to participate in the voice forums, so, yeah.
I see what you're getting at with it would take ages because it would take ages to download all the threads and all the things. So that's probably one of the reasons that we don't have full access to it. I think so.
Hi, it's Robert. Yeah, I agree about the audio quality could be improved slightly, though I guess the reason why it's probably recorded that way is to, um, probably to save on the speed and the time it takes to download the messages, because I believe Klango, it operates, that you have to, uh, it downloads the messages to a temporary location, probably somewhere within the Klango directory. And I believe the format is WAV, though.
I am not sure, and it's in something like, I don't know if it's 8 or 16k, I'm not sure, I can't remember. I heard it somewhere, but, and this is despite Klango's update, which they've released today, though I haven't really listened to many new posts, and I lose access to voice forums as of tomorrow, so unless someone would kindly offer me some more Klango points, which I would much appreciate, as I can't buy any more points now with the removal of the Paymo system, until someone buys me some more points, goodbye.

Well, actually, listening to my post just now, the previous one I made, the quality is very, very slightly better. I mean, whether it's just my headset or not, that's probably a part to play in it, and the fact that I'm using this mic and stuff like that, and it's just my audio setup, maybe a part to play in it. But I think, compared to my first post in this topic, which is my only other voice post, and the title of this thread, which was also recorded, although it's still not great by any means,
the quality, I believe, is very, very slightly better, because it must be the new format, or the new KHC that they're recording it in. It's probably gone up a bit, I'd say, at least 16k now, I reckon, but I'm no audio expert. Anyways, as I said, everything's going well, but I lose access to these forums as of tomorrow,
and unless I get more points, then I probably won't be coming back any time soon, unless Klango puts back the Paymo system. I mean, you can read my suggestion in the other topic that I give read-only access, or listen-only access, in this case, to the forums, but that's up to Klango. I mean, I think, personally, that the voice forums will probably die,

Yeah, Kieran, I agree with you about the two minutes thing now where you can record up to 120 seconds instead of 60. That's probably a good idea. Okay, it may slow down some people's access to the voice forums who are on slow connections like dial-up, but having said that with dial-up connections, one, I probably wouldn't recommend anything to do with downloading audio or voice chat or something like that, and two, no offence, but seriously, looking to get in broadband.
I mean, even if it's a low-end broadband connection, it's a lot better than 56k dial-up. No offence to anyone who uses it. I mean, I've got nothing against people who use dial-up. I just say that in this day and age, a lot more stuff is going to require broadband connections from now on, so I'd seriously consider looking into getting a broadband connection. I mean, make 2010 your year of getting broadband. Anyway, that's all I have to say on the matter.
Unless something changes or Kieran or someone else posts another post before this one gets sent, like what happened with my previous post, unless that happens or I receive any more replies to this before I sign off tonight, then it's goodbye from me and goodbye from my voice because you'll only see me next in text and on the text forums and the text groups and stuff like that because, as I have mentioned twice now,

I think the quality has improved a bit but that might be to do with your mic I know because it sounded a little bit better over here in your original post so yeah wonder what that's about if it is better quality I'm glad for it because uh Flango should be higher quality

Yeah, I guess it's probably a combination of the two really. My mic has probably improved or something or I've probably changed some sort of setting. I don't know, I've had to do a million system restores and reinstalls and installs and what have you in the last few days. So I guess it's probably a combination of the update, it's probably they've probably upped the KHZ or whatever it is in the audio quality or changed the codec or I don't know,
no audio expert. They've probably done something to tweak the audio to make it a little bit better and it's probably something I've changed on my end. I mean I've been messing around with various things but oh and by the way I've stocked up on quite a few almost probably I'd say I lost count but it's on like 80 or 90 voice private messages which I use the rest of my Klango points to buy so you may well still hear my voice but that's
about it unless someone buys me more points then I can access the voice forums again. But you can still private message me and you may get a voice message back. Okay that's it from me for now anyway.

Well, I wouldn't say that laptop has been quite that much in terms of hell, but okay, I've had my fair share of blue screens and stuff, mainly when I've been shutting down because it seems to be very picky about when a program has been left open. And okay, I had to do a couple of system restores. Well, it forced them on me, that startup repair thing that comes up and unfortunately doesn't speak, so you have to go get sighted assistance to even read the damn thing.

It still annoys you a bit. So, it's annoyed you a bit and it's getting on your nerves. But as long as you just keep it as it is and don't install anything that you shouldn't. And don't install anything that you shouldn't. And it probably shouldn't.

Thanks to a Klango user, who I won't mention for the pure reason that if I do mention their Klango name, then everyone's going to be sending them messages asking them for points, but thanks to a certain Klango user, I now have another shot at the voice forums, as I now have another seven days starting from now. So yeah, I'm pretty happy. I get another go at all of this.
And you have to put up with my voice again for another seven days. Yippee! Well, I hope you don't think like that, but ah well. If you do, you do. You don't, you don't. Anyways, let's go have a look around on these voice forums while I've still got access, because over the weekend will be the time when I can use it the most, so I'm going to make the most of it, and reply in as many threads as I can. go in depth about it. You can see my comments on the forum the Klango part of it but my take on that is yes they said that the mobile option was too expensive for them to continue with them but if they had maybe maybe if they had continued with that perhaps a lot of people would have bought
more points and their costs would have been covered and plus now it seems like a lot of people will have to depend on other people who use PayPal which is definitely not my case and will never be. Not that I don't want to pay but I can't use PayPal so like a lot of people who are under 18 who do not have a credit card and that will not be an option so well

Yeah, I agree with the Saint on this. I mean, yeah, they took away the mobile payment option because apparently it was too expensive. But I mean, these voice forums will probably die eventually because there are simply not enough people on here who use PayPal or who are over 18 and can actually buy the points. A lot of the people, at least a lot of people I've noticed, either can't use PayPal or are under 18, like myself. So eventually, I think,
if Klango introduces too many more paid services, then people are basically just not going to use them. And voice forums, for example, are probably going to just die eventually once people stop bothering to buy points. So I mean, it will be okay probably for the next few months or so, possibly up to the next three months. And then I think you'll eventually notice once the hype is sort of gone and stuff, people are just going to eventually sort of not bother to buy points. And these voice forums are just,
you know, get less and less and less active until eventually they'll just, you know, die. I don't want that to happen, but unless Klango does something with the points or brings back the mobile payment option, then, in my opinion, that's the way I think things may well end up going. Oh yes, and I guess I really should have probably created my own thread on this because I noticed this is my test one. Thanks for reminding me.
