How's progress on Klango 4 rewrite?

There were mentions of Klango 4 Alpha on some threads. How's progress on the rewrite as of currently? What are some new features that'll be coming to the rewrite. Klango whatsapp might be an interesting new program though, because I may be able to use whatsapp without the stupid inaccessible interface. The official whatsapp also logs people out on every new update.

I would imagine being able to use discord in Klango as well without the electron UI haha!

Discord would be nice, although I'd emagine Discord wouldn't like it themselves lol.

Not that I use Discord unless I absolutely have to.

I prefer forums personally.

Plus, Discord's security hasn't been all that good lately.

I use the windows store version of Whatsapp and haven't had problems, it does take some getting use to, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it isn't accessible, it's usable, but can be a little tricky to get use to.

yeah that's what I meant. And yes, I do know about the discord security problem. Even with bots they'll still find ways to bypass the server and spam everyone on every channel in the server.

Re: How's progress on Klango 4 rewrite?

I have a couple of suggestions for the new Klango, assuming they haven't already been implemented.

**1. Displaying post times in the user's local time zone**

It would be nice if thread and post timestamps could be displayed in the user's local time zone rather than the forum's time zone. Quite a few websites already do this, including AudioGames.net, which has been around for roughly 21 years now.

This one might be wishful thinking on my part, but I thought I'd suggest it anyway.

**2. Following threads directly from the What's New section**

I like the fact that Klango asks whether you want to follow a thread after creating it. However, I think it would be useful to have a similar option when browsing threads through the What's New section.

At the moment, if I come across an interesting thread there and want to follow it, I have to navigate to the forum where it was originally posted and follow it from there. It would be much more convenient to have a Follow Thread option available directly from What's New.

Of course, I might be missing something, such as a submenu that already provides this functionality.

Knowing my luck, both suggestions have probably already been implemented in Klango 4 Alpha!

I'm not particularly adventurous when it comes to alpha software, and I generally avoid betas unless they're reasonably stable. Kodi is one exception, as I'm currently running its beta releases, although I stay well away from the nightly builds.

Anyway, that's getting a bit off topic. Just thought I'd throw these suggestions out there.
