How Things Have Changed Over the Years

Wow, but am I starting to feel old.

Now that many of these posts from back then have been archived, I feel like a little kid again reading some of these posts when Windows 8 was the only thing and everyone hated it.

I'd like to know. What are your best memories from back in the day in the early 2010s decade? Can't believe it's 2026. It feels like yesterday that I was on my family computer using Windows 7 with a full version of Windows and reading about how they're no longer making any versions of the software. It all brings back memories for sure.

Re: How Things Have Changed Over the Years

Windows 7 was truely the best windows version i ever experienced. The first ever computer I used had windows11, that was back in 2012 when I was 7. My mother had a new desktop PC and we installed JAWS onto it. Later that year i got my own pc for school matters, it was a lenovo laptop. To say it sucked would be an under statement. Maybe i just got a bad device, but almost instantly stuff started breaking although I did nothing wrong with it.

Re: How Things Have Changed Over the Years

Sooo. My mom used to have a dell before switching to a chromebook, and my dad also had a windows 7 device back when I was like, 7? 8? And some of the school computers we currently have back then ran either windows 7 or 10, but they waited until 2023 to update the staff computers from windows 7 to 11, which, is kinda bad NGL... but, yeah. That's all I will say in regards. I later got me an HP in 2022 right after my chromebook in 21. And it had some weird issues, like the the microphone increasing the volume to 100 when your voice got louder etc.

The first computer I ever used was back in eighth grae, running windows 98. I don't remember the version of jaws the school had on that thing, but every time you turned around, the thing was always crashing. I got my own computer in 2007, running windows xp with window-eues. Who else remembers using that? I've had a few computers since then, with my newest one being this hp laptop I have right now, running jaws 2026.

Re: How Things Have Changed Over the Years

I had my first computer back in 2011 or so. It was one of the last EMachines, and it had windows 7 on it. I hated windows 8 and 10 took some time to grow on me, but I am a very happy windows 11 user. A lot of friends of mine have said that they've had issues with it, but surprisingly I have not. I did fiddle with xp from time to time, but I found it annoying to use. That was only in school though, so I just had to tolerate it. Times do definitely change, but the more they stay the same as it were. Things are good in some ways, but are not in others.

Win 7 was the best.

I saw XP, without a screen reader, but Win 7 with a cscreen reader as we had knowledge about these.
