the retro TTS synths thread

so there has been a TTS synth explosion within the last months, e.g. We have doubletalk for iOS and android, keynote gold for android, there was wintalker for android that Krisi made but it was a private thing, along with some other tts synths including Nokia TTS for NVDA. You can talk about the retro TTS synths here. You can also share the addons if you'd like to said synths

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

Also somehow not to mention infovox230 for nvda whitch is new, but oh well.

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

Well, I'm currently working on improving the nokia TTs for NVDA to make it most responsive and also making it available on android and sapi5. My focus is to reduce it to what it is, a lightweight, small klatt engine. I don't see why a synth like this should take up 100 mb.

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

Where to get the Infovox thing for NVDA?

5

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

Anyone knows if there is any way to run SVOX or Loquendo voices on Android? These would be so nice with Talkback and all versions do not work on modern phones.

6

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

the only way I would get sVox is to use SmartVoice from BHP but that sucks NGL

7

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

I heard there's a modern SVox Pico for Android but don't exactly know where it is, would have to go hunting for it lol.

8

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

I tried the smartvoice thing but it doesn't even let me install. This is not compatible with the 64-bit architecture.

9

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

oh right. Forgot that newer android phones don't support 32-bit apps

10

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

OK, that's sad. Vocalizer v1 would have been great on modern android. If someone figures something out please tell me.

11

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

the infovox 230 addon, https://github.com/joshknnd1982/infovox

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

We now have the classic Vocalizer TTS for the iPhone! You can get it from https //files . mad gamer . com/Misc/Classic%20Vocalizer . zip

Extra note: This requires you to sideload the app from alt store or something else, because these are technically pulling from the old vocalizer and they're older apple voices similar to the mac voices we have on NVDA.

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

first, the link doesnt work. second. why post it all spaced out like that. that is just...

14

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

NVDA's link destination thing, remove the space thing

15

the retro TTS synths thread

In tested in on my old iPhone, that is so cool. I really need this for my Pixel 10. They are just so much better than new vocalizer. Anyone please?

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

there is no port for android as far as I know, but maybe I can contact Matthew Dovie on mastodon and have him use claud or something to make an android apk of this.

17

the retro TTS synths thread

Please do that if it is not to hard.

18

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

i did remove the spaces. when i said it didnt work, was after doing that.

19

the retro TTS synths thread

Worked for me. But it is mad-gamer.com, not madgamer.com, maybe that is the reason, at least that happened to me.

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

ah, tthat is it then. but you know. not fun to give out links to parked domains lol include the dash and no spaces hahaha

21

the retro TTS synths thread

we now have the Microsoft TTS voices on iOS (including Sam,,Mike, Mary, and the rest of them) on iOS. https://github.com/quinton1110/sapple

22

the retro TTS synths thread

by the way, this too requires sideloading as well. I hate how apple limits developer apps on a free account to only 3 including altstore

Re: the retro TTS synths thread

Oh yes I have sapple and I quite love it. I love useing it for when I'm away from my comp and can use those voices on the go.
